Thunder Face Stanbic, Equity Dumas Battle KPA for Final Spot
14 September 2026

The Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Premier League playoffs move into the semifinal round, with two heavyweight clashes set to decide who reaches the final.
Nairobi City Thunder enter the playoffs as favourites after an unbeaten regular season, chasing a third straight league title. They now face a Stanbic Shields side that booked their semifinal spot by sweeping their quarterfinal series 2–0, and who bring in former Thunder star Griffin Ligare, giving them genuine championship experience to call on against their old club. In the other semifinal, Kenya Ports Authority advanced after leading their quarterfinal series against Strathmore Blades, setting up a clash with Equity Dumas, who reached the semis after edging out Umoja in a tight decider. KPA, chasing a return to the top after losing the title to Thunder, will look to their defensive identity to slow down an Equity Dumas side that has shown it can grind out close contests.
With both semifinal pairings now confirmed, attention turns to venue and scheduling details as the KBF looks to build toward the league final.
Fixtures and tip-off times to be confirmed by the Kenya Basketball Federation.
